SAUSAGE AND TOMATO SLICE
Ingredients:
13 oz pack of puff pastry (bought)
1 large finely chopped onion
8 oz sausage meat
6 oz grated cheese
2 tablespoons tomato puree
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
Seasoning
Method:
Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle shape
Spread with tomato puree
Place on a baking tray
Mix the sausage, onion, cheese, tomato puree, breadcrumbs and egg
Season well
Place the sausage mixture in a strip down the centre of the pastry
Make sure the edges of the puff pastry are damp
Join the edges together and seal
Turn over so the join is underneath
Prick pastry all over
Brush with milk to glaze
Bake at gas mark 6, 200°c or 400°f for approx 35 – 40 mins
Once cool, cut into slices
Can be served hot or cold.
