GINGERBREAD
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar*
2 cups of self raising flour*
4oz margarine
2 dessertspoons golden syrup (try substituting 1 spoon with black treacle)
1 level teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
2 level teaspoons ground ginger
*The quantity isn't too important here as long as the same cup size is used for the flour and the sugar.
Method:
Mix well with one cup of boiling milk
Bake at gas mark 4, 180°C or 360°F for approx. 45 minutes
