CHEESE AND ONION PIE
Ingredients:
10 oz butter or margarine
1 lb self raising flour
1 onion chopped finely
1 lb onion (peeled + sliced)
10 oz grated cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons Branston Pickle
Method:
Make pastry with 8 oz of the margarine/butter + flour
Stir in finely chopped onion
Chill the dough for 20 minutes
Fry remaining onions for 10 mins until soft then drain
Line dish with half the pastry
Add the grated cheese
Cover with Branston Pickle
Top with fried onions
Roll out the remaining pastry and top the pie
Brush the top with milk to glaze
Bake at gas mark 6, 200°c or 400°f for approx 45 mins or until golden
